Hospitality Network Design for UK Venues
Network architecture for hotels, restaurants, pubs, and conference venues. We isolate PMS and EPOS into PCI-aware zones, deliver guest Wi-Fi that doesn’t collapse at peak occupancy, and centralise multi-property management so a 12-hotel group runs from one console.
What’s Included
PMS Zone Isolation
Property Management System (Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, Guestline) on a controlled VLAN with documented integration flows to EPOS and channel managers. No guest device sees PMS traffic.
EPOS & Payment Segmentation
EPOS terminals isolated into a PCI-aware zone with documented payment-gateway egress. Reduces PCI-DSS scope to a defined boundary.
Guest Wi-Fi at Peak Occupancy
Wi-Fi sized for actual guest device load (laptop + phone + watch + tablet per room/cover) — not just AP count. Captive portal, optional premium tiering, multilingual T&Cs.
AV / IoT Device Containment
In-room TVs, casting devices, smart locks, thermostats, BMS sensors on a managed VLAN with vendor-specific egress. No device gets full internet.
Conference & Events Network
Per-event VLANs with bandwidth caps, custom captive-portal branding, AV-grade QoS for live streams and presenters. Spins up and tears down per booking.
Multi-Property Centralised Management
Hotel groups get a single management plane — same VLAN scheme, same SSIDs, same firewall policy across every property. Adding a hotel takes a day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size of property does this design suit?
From a 30-cover restaurant to a 250-room hotel and conference venue. The framework scales — the difference is the size of each VLAN, the AP count, and the amount of redundancy on critical paths. Smaller venues often opt for a Meraki-style stack; larger ones go enterprise-grade Aruba/Cisco.
Do you integrate with our PMS and EPOS?
Yes. Designs are vendor-agnostic — Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, Guestline, Lightspeed, NCR, Toast, Square, etc. We document the actual integration flows (PMS ↔ EPOS, PMS ↔ channel manager, payment ↔ acquirer) and design ACLs that allow exactly those flows and no more.
How does this reduce PCI-DSS scope?
PCI-DSS scope includes any system that processes, transmits, or could affect cardholder data. We isolate EPOS into a dedicated VLAN with explicit ingress / egress rules to the payment gateway. Office, guest Wi-Fi, AV, and IoT all sit outside the cardholder zone — significantly reducing the systems and controls in audit scope.
Can you design conference / event networks for venues?
Yes. Conference networks are typically per-event VLANs with custom captive-portal branding, bandwidth caps, optional sponsor SSIDs, and AV-grade QoS for live streams or presenter laptops. We build a template the venue can spin up per booking.
How long does a hospitality network design take?
Single-property: 1–2 weeks including a half-day on-site discovery. Multi-property hotel group (5+ sites): 3–4 weeks for the template plus a per-site rollout schedule.
