Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026 · Governed by English law
1. The service
VP Compass (“the Service”) is a free interactive network-topology designer operated by VantagePoint Networks (“we”, “us”), a business based in London, England. The Service runs in your browser, lets you build and edit network topology diagrams, and exports them in draw.io and PDF formats.
2. Not professional consultancy
For accredited or assured network design, engage VantagePoint Networks directly via our services.
3. Free to use
The designer, AI annotations, draw.io export, and PDF export are free. We may adjust features, AI rate limits, or template selection at any time. We reserve the right to block abusive traffic, particularly on the AI annotation endpoint.
4. Privacy
Topology data lives in your browser. AI annotation requests transmit your topology to our AI provider (Groq) for processing — see Privacy Policy for the full data handling breakdown. Your IP address is rate-limited via Upstash Redis to protect against abuse.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or rebuild the topology engine.
- Do not bypass rate limits on the AI annotation endpoint.
- Do not submit content that is malicious, illegal, or designed to provoke unsafe AI output.
- Do not resell exported diagrams as your own original consultancy work.
6. Intellectual property
Industry templates, the canvas engine, the AI prompt design, and the visual design are VantagePoint Networks intellectual property. You retain ownership of any topology you produce. You may use exported diagrams for any internal or commercial purpose.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to £100. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law (including death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is hosted on Vercel; outages affecting Vercel will affect availability. AI annotations depend on Groq availability and may be temporarily unavailable independent of the rest of the Service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
